1.5 hours by road from Kota Kinabalu lies a valley of picturesque serenity, the valley with sparkling mountain streams glowing across emerald green rice fields present the gentle side of Sabah’s interior.

A walk through the bush valley offers visitors a chance to enjoy Sabah’s tranquil countryside while listening to the chorus of insects and the call of forest birds.

Situated along the Pegalan River in Tambunan, that provides accommodation facilities for visitors to Tambunan.

TVRC offers visitors the experience of staying in Traditional-Type chalets made of split bamboo while enjoying the spring-like climate and peaceful nights of Tambunan.

For camera buffs and nature lovers, Tambunan offers the experience of a lifetime to view the world’s largest flower, picnic by crystal clear waterfalls, discover local orchids, and climb Sabah’s second highest peak, Mt. Trusmadi. Relax in the fresh mountain climate amidst breath-taking scenery and discover the tradition of the Tambunan Kadazan / Dusun people.

TVRC can assist visitors to visit places of interest around Tambunan through prior arrangement.

The Refflesia Information Centre

Located about 20 kilometres from TVRC, where the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia is found and protected. One can learn about this rare and distinct flower which takes nine months to grow and bloom but withers and dies within 10 days. 

Mount Trus Madi

Sabah’s second highest peak (2642 metres), where the most attractive pitcher plant called the Nepenthes trusmadiensis and other rare plants are found. (A tracker is required and can be arranged through prior booking at the TVRC)

The Mawah Waterfall

Is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sabah. Surrounded by thick lowland forest, enjoy the cool refreshing air and dip in the waterfall’s pool, while picnicking.

Tamu Besar

Visit the "TAMUS" (held every Thursday and Sunday) where the indigenous people of Sabah in Tambunan from far and near, and the young and old come to sell their wares and wild vegetables.

 Tandarason Villa

Is an ideal place for religious retreats, located on a hill about five minutes’ walk from the main TVRC site. The building has five bedrooms, all with attached bathrooms (only 2 with hot water), two bedrooms have double-beds, and three bedrooms have three single-beds each. It has a spacious living cum conference room and a big kitchen, equipped with gas cooker, cooking utensilsand a fridge. It also has separate, in-house washrooms for gents and ladies.

You can cook your own food or arrange for your meals to be catered from the restaurant or outside caterer for halal food.

Multi Purpose Hall

This is an open-air hall which has a theatre capacity of up to 500 people.

Meeting facilities such as P.A. system, Overhead Projector, Slide Projector, and Rostrum are available. Photocopy and facsimile services are also available.
